Upcoming Events:
Morning Star is hosting two WORLD CHANGERS crews July 13-18th. In
honor of our visiting World Changers, there will be a church
picnic after service on July 13th. Please sign up to bring a dish to share.
Youth
Summer Missions
It is exciting
to see so many of young people reaching out and getting involved
in ministerial opportunities! Please pray for God to work in
and through them as they prepare to show the love of Christ in
Augusta, Ga, Puerto Rico, Summit Ministires, Phillipines, and
UK. Men's
Bible Study--
Our Men's Bible study will
continue studying individual Bible verses and discussing ways
to apply scripture in our
daily walk with the Lord. It is a great time of fellowship
and a great way to focus our thoughts on the Lord and not on
the things of this world. Dads, this is a great way to instruct
your sons. Young men from age 12 & older are not only welcome,
but encouraged to attend.
Women's Ministry-
The women’s ministry appreciates all the women, and
young women, who have served us by setting up the refreshments. It’s
really one of those behind the scene jobs that usually doesn't get a lot of
focus unless it is "not" done. It has allowed new comers to feel
welcomed and old comers to stay around and fellowship.
Wednesday Nights:
Youth
Ministry
This month our youth
are continuing their mission focus, and it’s becoming a church-wide involvement. After
World Changer trips to Augusta and Puerto Rico last month, as well
as a work trip to West Virginia, several of our youth AND adults
are responding to a call for workers for a local project. At the
start of the year, World Changers had about 130 participants signed
up to work in early July in Fellsmere, but this number dropped
to twenty-some, leaving the local organizers in a tight spot. Having
committed to several homeowners, they called on the local community
for help, and we’ve been able to form two crews, along with
our friends from King’s Baptist. We will continue to help
World Changers by providing lunches for two crews during the Gifford
work project in mid-July.
Later in August, we’ll be praying for Alyssa as she travels
to the Philippines on a medical mission trip, assisting a nurse-midwife
who runs
a birthing center in Manila. It’s exciting to see our youth (and adults)
stretch and grow.
There will be no GOY meetings until July 16 – watch the bulletin and your
e-mails for more details. We are also planning a trip to Cypress Gardens in August.
Adult
Small Group -
The Wednesday night small group is enjoying Paul's letter to the Philippians.
His joy and encouragement that he delivers to the Christians
at Philippi while he was under house arrest is contagious.
Come join us!
First
